The Leninsky District Court of Chelyabinsk will consider an administrative case of inciting hatred against police officers against the former coordinator of Navalny’s headquarters, Alexei Tabalov. This was reported by the Network Freedom telegram channel.
Tabalov is accused of inciting hatred or hostility towards a social group on the professional basis of “police officers” (Article 20.3.1 of the Administrative Code) due to posts published in his Telegram channel on January 24 and February 3. According to the investigation, the publications revealed a “slang,” “contemptuous,” and “ironic” assessment of this group.
According to the source, the trial was supposed to take place on September 24, but after reading the defense’s motions, the judge invited Tabalov and his lawyer to “come by on Monday.”
- In June, prosecutors invited Alexei Tabalov and other headquarters employees to give explanations in the case of extremism. The polls took place in a criminal case of fraud against Alexei Navalny (Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code). Alexey Tabalov headed Navalny’s headquarters for several years. He resigned from his position of his own free will. At the moment, the ex-chief of staff is engaged in human rights activities.
- In December 2020, the Investigative Committeeopened a criminal case for fraud on an especially large scale (Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code) against politician Alexei Navalny. According to investigators, Navalny and “other persons” spent 356 million rubles out of 588 collected as donations for personal purposes: purchasing personal property and paying expenses, “including holidays abroad.”
- On June 9, 2021, the Moscow City Court recognized the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK), the Foundation for the Protection of Citizens' Rights (FZPG) and the headquarters of Alexei Navalny as extremist organizations. Former project participants are being pressured. Thus, the ex-director of FBK, Ivan Zhdanov, was put on the wanted list in a criminal case, and Lyubov Sobol, who worked as a lawyer at FBK, had to refuse to participate in the State Duma elections.
