Billionaire Sergei Galitsky reported illness

Billionaire and owner of the Krasnodar football club Sergey Galitsky announced his illness. In an interview for the Comment Show podcast, Galitsky said that it was precisely because of this that he could not regularly attend matches of his team.

Galitsky said that he had already missed three games of Krasnodar, but did it due to illness.

It's not a secret for Krasnodar: I'm sick and, unfortunately, I have such a period in my life that I can't attend home matches in large numbers. I can’t communicate with the club as much as the president needs. But this is life - you are often not the master of your destiny. Unfortunately, I'm not in that shape and therefore I miss some games.

To a clarifying question about what kind of illness he was talking about, Galitsky replied that he would not give details.

At the same time, the billionaire emphasized that he could not physically be at the stadium, but continued to be engaged in the operational management of the club.

• Sergei Galitsky is the founder and former owner of the Magnit retail chain. In 2008, he also founded the Krasnodar football club. Three years later, the club made its debut in the Russian Premier League, and in 2020 it played in the Champions League for the first time. Galitsky also financed the construction of a stadium for the club.
