CEC Chairman Ella Pamfilova announced the creation of a unified online voting system for the next federal elections. The “change your mind” option will no longer be used, and Moscow’s experience will “not dissipate”.

“I think that what Moscow has developed will organically enter our common piggy bank and, of course, the federal elections will be held according to general rules, on a single platform,” Pamfilova said at a meeting of the Central Election Commission. She noted that the city authorities will continue to develop initiatives on various aspects of city life on their platform.

It was decided to abandon the option of delayed voting amid a flurry of criticism. “This option, it was very voluminous. When we decided to introduce the option of re-voting [in Moscow], we clearly said that the federal law does not provide for a re-voting... We found such a compromise option, called it “postponed voting,” Pamfilova recalled.

Electronic voting in Moscow became the main scandal in the elections to the State Duma, held from 17 to 19 September. Popular protest candidates in the capital won the polls but lost the online vote. As a result, none of them made it to the lower house. The Bell wrote about it in detail here .
Alexei Venediktov, head of the public headquarters for election observation, announced on September 22 that all votes received during online voting would be recounted in Moscow. The next day, he reported that the headquarters did not find traces of breaking and stuffing.
