Human rights activist Valentina Chupik, who was detained yesterday at Sheremetyevo by FSB officers, has been in the special detention center of the airport for the second day. A video of a telephone conversation with Chupik was published by her assistant.

According to the human rights activist, a lawyer is not allowed to see her - this requires permission from the authorities, which can only be obtained starting from Monday. Chupik said that she was forced to stay in a room with very bright light, from which she practically stopped seeing - it was turned off for several hours in the morning, but returned again.

In addition, there is no ventilation in the room. “Neighbors in the special detention center smoke, it’s very hard for me, as a non-smoker. Employees answer all questions that they know nothing and are not responsible for anything, ”Chupik said. Earlier, the woman reported that she was not given boiling water, and there were no hygiene items in the cell.

Chupyk believes that they are going to expel her illegally - "for criticizing systemic corruption in the Ministry of Internal Affairs." She stated that she would continue to help migrants "if she remains alive."

After the arrest, the FSB officers handed the human rights activist a notice about the deprivation of her refugee status in Russia. She was also banned from entering the country until 2051. Now the woman is threatened with deportation to Uzbekistan, of which she is a citizen. Chupik managed to convey this information yesterday, after which she stopped communicating. She is in danger at home.

The human rights activist moved to Russia after the Andijan events. She has been living in Moscow for many years and provides free legal assistance to migrants who are faced with pressure from law enforcement and other problems.
