Roskomnadzor demanded that three publications remove material about food shortages in Taimyr

Roskomnadzor demanded that the Taiga.Info, Znak and NGS24 publications remove material about the shortage of products in the stores of the Taimyr village of Khatanga. This is reported by Novaya Gazeta.

The agency stated that the publication contained "inaccurate information of public interest, distributed under the guise of reliable messages."

According to Taiga.Info, this is the first time the law on fake news has been applied to a publication. Roskomnadzor threatened to block the site within 24 hours if the material was not removed.

The publication NGS24 in its material said that the shortage was confirmed by local residents and the head of Khatanga, Anna Bettu.

Later, a member of the Liberal Democratic Party and a deputy of the Taimyr District Council, Mikhail Ivanitsky, showed empty shelves in stores on his Instagram and said that the prosecutor's office had not found a shortage of food.

According to the changes, Roskomnadzor can block the resource without a court order.
