The Leningrad District Court of Kaliningrad denied Ivan Luzin, ex-volunteer of Navalny's local headquarters, permission to rally against infill development. This was reported to OVD-Info by the activist himself.
The planned action, according to its organizer, is connected with the protection of trees on the territory of the Spartak stadium. The City Hall allowed 533 trees and 10 shrubs to be cut down at this site for the construction of five new buildings.
“I filed a lawsuit to force the city hall to agree on a rally against the construction of Spartak and the destruction of 533 trees on its territory. I am sure that there will be many Kaliningraders who would like to come and speak out on this matter. And this is our right,” says Luzin.
The city administration refused to approve the event, in connection with which Luzin went to court. The representative of the mayor's office substantiated the position of the authorities with six-page documents. The judge, according to the activist, almost completely used the documents of the defendant in the text of the decision.
