Many drawings of the German Caricatourist Thomas Heine are still fresh and relevant in our time

The outstanding German Caricatoonist and writer Thomas Theodor Heine (1867–1948) was one of the founders and constant authors of the most popular satirical magazine Simplicsimus. He lived a very complex and, in general, not too happy life. The simplicissimus created by him (together with the publisher Albert Langen) really burned the hearts of his loyal readers - both a verb and the grinding political caricatures.

From the very beginning of his creative activity, the causticity of the cartoons of Thomas Heine significantly touched for the living powerful of this world. Once the artist was even arrested and imprisoned on charges of insulting the imperial majesty! After the Nazis came to power, T. Gane was forced to leave Germany and was hiding for a long time from the persecution of the Gestapo, wandering from the country to the country throughout Europe ...

Today, this artist is one of the favorites of gourmets of graphics and generally admirers of secession, the world of art, modern and other "Ugrandstille". Many of his drawings are not just magnificent works of art, they are still fresh with their meaning, and sometimes look much more relevant than, perhaps, seemed at the time of their creation. One of the amazing examples of this can be seen on the pre -revolutionary Russian card of the beginning of the last century.
