Ilya Sachkov from Group-Ib was arrested for the Stateizer. Due to what prevented pro-Russian hackers?

On September 29, the court arrested the founder and general director of the Group-IB cyber security company Ilya Sachkov on suspicion of state reception. On the eve of the company's headquarters, searches were held.

State media, referring to sources, report that Sachkov allegedly collaborated with foreign intelligence services and handed them the data that constituted GOSTIN in the field of cybersecurity. The arrest of the head of the Group-IB may be associated with the criminal case of the former FSB Colonel Sergei Mikhailov, who in 2019 received 22 years in a colony on charges of Gosizmen.

The details of the Mikhailov case are classified, Kommersant, citing sources, wrote that he was accused of transferring information in the case of the head of Chronopay Pavel Vrublevsky. According to another version, the real reason for the persecution could be that the defendants helped the US authorities receive data on the hackers related to the GRU, who hacked the servers of the Democratic Party in 2016.

Participants in the cybersecurity market suggested that the arrest of Sachkov can be associated with the participation of Group-IB in the investigations of Interpol or the recent US sanctions against the SUEX cryptocurrency platform, which is suspected of financing hackers.

Group-Ib is one of the leaders in the Russian cybersecurity market. She specializes in the fight against cyber attacks, online abomination and high-tech crimes. The company cooperates with Sberbank, Alfa-Bank, Rostec and Megafon. Group-Ib is the official partner of Interpol and Europol. The company also helps Russian law enforcement agencies in the investigation of cases of cyber abuse.
