Although the original is in a couple of clicks, many believed that the rock musician became like a “typical woman in years”-and began to make memes with him.

At the end of September, a photograph of the aged Marilyn Manson began to disperse on the network: in the picture from a public event, a 52-year-old artist supposedly appeared with wrinkles, curly hair with gray hair and glasses.

In fact, the photograph turned out to be a fake: the original was taken in January 2020 at the Art of Elysium charity event, which the singer visited with his wife, photographer Lindy Yusich. In a real picture, Manson looks much younger, does not smile and does not wear glasses, but by setting the frame, clothes and the background, you can understand that this is the same photo.

It is not known for sure who was the first to “erect” Manson. Presumably, the author of Fake is a Twitter user from Guatemala named Moshe Ortis. He did not try to issue a photo for the truth and, together with the new version, laid out the original picture.

The post was not too much on Twitter, but they paid attention to the photograph on social networks and made it viral in a week. At the same time, only the edited frame reached many, so users perceived the news about the change in the appearance of the singer seriously.

The photo was the reason for jokes about the fleeting of time and old age of the rock musician. He was compared with “typical old women” - from teachers and nurses to distant relatives. Some even offered new names for Manson’s songs that would be more suitable for his image: Sweet Kids (Behave Like this) (“Cute kids, like yourself and behave”) or Cook4Me (Kitchen Upside Down) (“Create up me. Kitchen upside down”).
