Levada Center: the level of Russian trust in the president decreased to 53%. This is a minimum since 2012
The level of confidence in Russians to the President decreased to 53%, this is at least from October 2012, the results of the Levada Center survey*, which are at the disposal of Novaya Gazeta, testify.
In October 2012, 51% of respondents declared confidence in the president. A decrease in this indicator has been observed since September 2017, when it was at the level of 75%. Researchers recorded the highest level of trust in the president two years earlier - then the indicator reached 80%.
Despite the decrease in the level of trust, the president is among institutions with the highest level of this indicator. This group also includes the army (63%), special services (45%), church and release organizations (40%), as well as charitable organizations (36%).
According to the results of the survey, the least Russians trust political parties (17%), large business (18%), trade unions (20%), State Duma and a combed (25%each). In general, sociologists observe reducing the level of trust not only in the president, but also to other political institutions: so, in 2017, 33% of respondents declared confidence in the State Duma, 35% (now 33%), and 17% to political parties. The same trend is observed in relation to law enforcement agencies: if in 2017 the army trusted 69%, and the FSB and other special services - 57%, then in 2021 these indicators amounted to 61% and 45%, respectively.
At the same time, sociologists have noted an increase in media confidence over the past five years: from 27% in 2016 to 36% in 2021. However, confidence in the church and religious organizations falls: this indicator amounted to 54% in 2014, and in the current - 28%. There is also a decrease in trust in economic organizations: from 38% last year to 33% this is the current - to small and medium -sized businesses, and from 23% to 18% to large for the same period.
The survey was conducted on August 19-26 in 137 settlements of 50 Russian regions. It was attended by 1619 people from the age of 18.
