The German authorities are investigating the possible involvement of Alexander Lukashenko in the transportation of illegal migrants to Germany. This was reported by the German tabloid Bild without citing sources.
According to Deutsche Welle, there is no official confirmation of this information.
Since August 2021, almost four thousand migrants have illegally moved from Belarus to Germany. In the first week of October alone, their number was 1,183 people, writes Bild, citing information from the German police.
According to the newspaper, we are talking about residents of the Middle East who come to Belarus on student visas. Belarusian border guards or police transport them to those sections of the Polish border that are less well guarded. From Poland, migrants are trying to get to Germany. For assistance in crossing the Belarusian-Polish border, they pay four thousand euros, Bild claims.
The German authorities perceive what is happening in Belarus as an organization of illegal migration at the state level, with the help of which Lukashenka wants to achieve the lifting of European sanctions, the article says.
