The former coordinator of Navalny’s headquarters in Cheboksary, Semyon Kochkin, left Russia for Georgia, reports the publication Idel.Realii.

He left Russia on October 8, fearing that he would become involved in a case involving the creation of an extremist community.

On October 6, Kochkin was detained by Center E officers. Three reports were drawn up against the oppositionist: under the article on displaying symbols of a banned organization (Article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) due to a tweet mentioning “Smart Voting”; under the article on the dissemination of extremist materials (Article 20.29 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) due to the reposting of material from the Navalny community. • On September 28, 2021, the Investigative Committee opened a case against Alexei Navalny and his associates for creating an extremist community and participating in it (Article 282.1 of the Criminal Code).
• On June 9, 2021, the Moscow City Court recognized the Anti-Corruption Foundation, the Foundation for the Protection of Citizens' Rights (FZPG) and the headquarters of Alexei Navalny as “extremist organizations.” An appeals court later upheld this decision.
