On the night of October 11-12, the ex-head of the Serpukhov District, Alexander Shestun, was transferred from SIZO-1 in Yaroslavl to SIZO-1 in Tver. In the Tver isolation ward, he was placed in a ShIZO. This was reported to OVD-Info by the convict's wife Yulia Shestun.
Alexander Shestun told a lawyer who visited him that upon arrival at the Tver pre-trial detention center he was searched for seven hours. He was also placed in a cell with a convict who had already threatened Shestun with reprisals in IK-6 in Bezhetsk.
- In December 2020, the Podolsky City Court of the Moscow Region sentenced Alexander Shestun to 15 years in prison under several criminal articles at once: fraud committed on an especially large scale (part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code); legalization of funds received as a result of a crime (paragraph “b” of part 4 of article 174.1 of the Criminal Code); illegal entrepreneurial activity (Article 289 of the Criminal Code); receiving a bribe on an especially large scale (part 6 of article 290 of the Criminal Code). against Shestun In April, a new criminal case was opened under three articles at once: threat or violent acts in connection with the administration of justice (part 1 of article 296 of the Criminal Code), insulting a judge (part 2 of article 297 of the Criminal Code) and insulting a representative of authority (art. 319 of the Criminal Code).
- In 2021, the European Court of Human Rights declared illegal the extension of Shestun's arrest during the judicial investigation, as well as the duration of his stay in a pre-trial detention center.
- The Memorial Human Rights Center considers the persecution of Shestun politically motivated and demands a retrial.
