The Ministry of Justice included the human rights association “Yakutia - Our Opinion” in the register of media “foreign agents”

The Ministry of Justice included in the register of media “foreign agents” the autonomous non-profit association for the protection of human rights and informing the population “Yakutia - Our Opinion”. This is reported on the department's website.

On August 20, the head of the organization, Stepan Petrov, was already included in the register of “foreign agents.”

On September 29, the Ministry of Justice included the independent human rights media project OVD-Info in the register of unregistered public associations performing the functions of a “foreign agent.” On the same day as OVD-Info, 22 people and 4 more organizations received “foreign agent” status.

OVD-Info issued a statement about the decision of the Ministry of Justice, in which the project participants explain why they consider the label “foreign agent” to be an act of political pressure.
