The police examined the Memorial due to a report of the hostage seizure

On October 14, the police conducted an inspection of the building of the Memorial International Society after receiving a message about the capture of hostages. This is stated in the protocol of inspection of the scene, which the lawyer Irina Putilova posted on Facebook.

On October 14, during the screening of the film about the Holodomor, a group of unknown young people burst into the Memorial. They chanted "Shame!", "Nazis!" And "Leave!"

The employees of the Memorial called the police, but law enforcement officers directed their attention primarily not to provocateurs, but to the Memorial itself: they did not let out the guests of the show from the building, interviewing where they learned about the event and whether they were convicted. The building was blocked, lawyers were not allowed inside. The police left the premises only at the second hour of the night on October 15, taking the security and fire safety system.

The next day, the “Memorial” was again visited by the security forces: the employees of the department for combating economic crimes (OBEP) transferred the requirement to submit to the OPEP in the Central District by October 18 many documents from the moment the organization was founded to date. In addition, the chairman of the board of Memorial, Jan Rachinsky, was called to the PEP for testimony.
