On October 5, the Sovetsky District Court of Vladivostok discontinued the proceedings in the case of activist Kirill Chistyakov. This was reported by lawyer Polina Sidelnikova, who collaborates with OVD-Info.
The decision was made due to the expiration of the statute of limitations for bringing to administrative responsibility.
On July 24, 2020, Chistyakov was detained for posting leaflets about an action in support of Khabarovsk. A report was drawn up against the young man under the article on organizing an unapproved event (Part 2 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code). The district court reclassified his actions as participation in an uncoordinated action (Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code) and fined him 10 thousand rubles. On appeal on February 8, 2021, the regional court overturned the fine and returned the case for a new trial.
On May 11, the district court again reclassified the activist’s actions as organizing an action (Part 2 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code) and fined him 20 thousand rubles. After the regional court overturned this ruling, the case was sent for a third hearing to the district court.
