Apple during the presentation on October 18 introduced updated MacBook Pro laptops with a screen diagonal of 14 and 16 inches.
Laptops received additional ports in addition to the standard Thunderbolt: HDMI ports appeared, for reading SD cards, as well as a MagSafe magnetic charging connector. The headphone port remained unchanged.
The laptops are powered by the company's own 10-core M1 Pro and M1 Max processors. The Pro has 33.7 billion transistors and is 70% faster than the previous generation, the Max is Apple's most powerful processor with 57 billion transistors. This processor allows you to connect up to four external displays to one device.
The MacBook Pro received frameless screens with a “notch” at the top of the monitor for the camera. The new MacBook Pro display - Liquid Retina XDR - runs at up to 120 Hz. Apple also updated the keyboard of the MacBook Pro, removing the Touch Bar and returning the function buttons.
The redesign of the MacBook Pro was the most significant since 2016, notes The Verge. The 14-inch MacBook Pro appeared in the company's lineup for the first time since 2005.
