Passengers on Moscow public transport will be fined for wearing a mask lowered, told TASS. Vladislav Sultanov, head of the State Institution "Organizer of Transportation",
According to him, now almost all passengers enter the subway wearing masks, but after passing the turnstiles and boarding the train, they put them on their chins or even take them off. “The mask protects when worn correctly - it completely covers the nose and mouth. <...> The controller is forced to issue a decision on the offense in the event that the mask is missing or does not cover the respiratory organs, ”he stressed.
In Moscow, the fine for not wearing a mask in public transport is 5,000 rubles, in shops and shopping centers - 4,000 rubles.
Wearing masks is still required in public places of the capital. The measure is effective May 12, 2020. Previously, it was necessary to wear gloves, but this requirement was canceled by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin in July 2021.
