On October 20, during a debate in the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don, the prosecutor requested punishment for four defendants in the third Bakhchisaray case of Hizb ut-Tahrir - from 13 to 20 years in prison. It is reported by "Crimean solidarity".
The prosecution asks for the longest term of imprisonment for Seitumer Seitumerov - 20 years in a strict regime colony, of which 3 years in prison, and after his release, another 2 years of restriction of liberty. Osman Seytumerov - 17 years in prison, including 2 years and 6 months in prison, as well as 1 year and 6 months of freedom restriction. Rustem Seitmemetov - 16 years in a colony, including 2 years and 6 months in prison, as well as 1 year of restriction of liberty. Amet Suleymanov - 13 years in prison, of which 2 years and 6 months in prison, as well as 1 year of restriction of liberty.
Amet Suleimanov's wife told Krymskaya Solidarity journalists what she thinks about the prosecution's motion: “I am outraged that our loved ones were asked for 66 years in prison [in total] for talking about Islam in the mosque. What did they do? Where, if not in a mosque, to discuss Islam? We are Muslims, and our whole life is based on the fact that we live according to it. Do you get 66 years in prison for talking about doomsday? I regard this as the oppression of our entire people! This is another 66 years for the entire Crimean Tatar people!”
Also, the preventive measure was extended for the defendants for a month: Osman and Seytumer Seytumerov, as well as Rustem Seitmemetov, will remain in the pre-trial detention center, Amet Suleimanov under house arrest. They are charged with an article on participation in the activities of a terrorist organization (part 2 of article 205.5 of the Criminal Code).
