The monstrous story that happened on the set of the film “Rust” resembles a thriller - as if a movie escaped into reality to kill those who were doing it.

What happened

During the filming of the western, the gun, which was supposed to be charged with idle cartridges, shot in the hands of Alec Baldwin, wounding the operator and director. The operator of the film 42-year-old Galina Khatchins in critical condition was delivered by helicopter to the hospital of the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, where she died of injuries. Director Joel Saus is damaged by the collarbone.

Baldwin plays the obscenity criminal Harland Plast (Rust-from the English Rusta), who learns that his grandson-teenage is accused of accidental murder and goes to Kansas to rescue the boy from prison.

Versions

The circumstances of the shooting are clarified. But social networks are already seething with versions. Among them are the malfunction of the props, and the negligence of pyrotechnics, and even the fantastic “dummy murder” intentional in the spirit of the movie. Whether the requiser, a fan of Trump, was specially replaced by the gun-thus avenge Balduin, who sarcastically parody the ex-president.

Was the actor drunk?

The international guild of filmmakers made a statement about the tragic incident.

The statement quoted by the Associated Press said: “We are for a complete investigation of this tragic event.” The statement was signed by the President of the Guild John Lindley and the Executive Director Rebecca Rain. According to AP, since 1990, at least 43 people have died on the set in the United States, about 150 people received serious injuries.

Accidents on the set

1984. From the revolver, Magnum mortally wounded himself 26-year-old American actor John Eric Hax on the set of the next series of the series “Cover Up). The weapon was charged with an idle cartridge. During the break between the doubles, wanting to defuse the tense atmosphere on the site, he played in the “Russian roulette”, putting the revolver to the temple. The operation was going on for five hours, but it was not possible to save the actor.

The actors Linda Hamilton and Bruce Willis received a partial hearing loss. During the filming of Terminator-2 (1990–1991), Linda Hamilton did not take advantage of Berusha during filming shooting from a shotgun in the elevator cab.

1993. During the filming of the Gothic comic book “Raven”, 28-year-old actor Brandon Lee, the son of Bruce Lee, was killed by a bullet from a pistol that was supposed to be unrelated. For firing, explosions on the set are responsible for a special workshop in pyrotechnics. On the set during the filming of scenes with weapons, strict safety rules apply. First of all, only a hunted weapon is used to simulate a shot with special simulation ammunition (idle cartridges). It is impossible to insert a combat cartridge into such a weapon. There is a small amount of gunpowder to create the appearance of a shot, but it is non -hazardous for the people who are nearby.

In addition, it is strictly forbidden even by hunting weapons to aim at people and the camera. To do this, everything is thought out before shooting, the scenes are driven, the distance from the camera is checked, the direction of the shot is verified ...

I know that in some cases the actor can replace the stuntman. In any case, briefing with performers participating in such scenes is carried out.
