The court in St. Petersburg rejected the appeal of the artist recognized by the “ino-agent” by her claim to the Ministry of Justice

The St. Petersburg City Court rejected the appeal on the claim of the artist Daria Apakhonchich to the Ministry of Justice recognized by the “ino-agent”. This was reported in the telegram channel of the United press service of the city courts.

Apakhonchich tried to appeal the decision of the Leninsky District Court on her claim to the department, in which she asked to recognize the disposal of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation to include her in the register of media that perform the functions of a “foreign agent”. The girl was one of the first to be recognized as individuals-“foreign agents”-this happened in December 2020.

On May 13, the Lenin court rejected the artist’s lawsuit, refusing to exclude her from the register. The court considered the “receipt of money from foreign organizations” by the basis for refusal; At the same time, the Ministry of Justice included a certificate of mentions of Apakhonchich in the publications of the present time, Radio Liberty, and North Reali over the past five years. The listed media are also recognized as “foreign agents”, and in the case file were not only notes with the comments of Apakhonchich, but also the texts that simply mention her name.

The artist herself is now not in Russia, her representatives are defended by her interests in court.

Three journalists were included in the list - Lyudmila Savitskaya, Sergey Markelov and Denis Kamalyagin, as well as the head of the “For Human Rights” movement Lev Ponomarev and civil activist and shareholder Daria Apakhonchich. The courts also recognized the introduction to the register of Markelov and Ponomarev legitimate.
• At the end of December 2020, the State Duma was submitted and partially considered the bills that tighten the law on foreign agents. So, for a repeated violation of reporting under this law will face up to 5 years in prison. According to new clarifications, the status of “Inoage” will be able to receive an individual engaged in political activities and receiving money from abroad. Another bill prohibits without a special mark to distribute information from foreign agents in the media.
