On October 22 - about a day before the announcement of Lokdown - Fontanka reported that the authorities of St. Petersburg are preparing for the Moscow Scenario, that is, the introduction of tough restrictions from October 30 to November 7. With reference to his own source, the publication was even announced when Smolny plans to announce to residents of new anti -icing measures - on Saturday evening, October 23.

So it happened. On Saturday, a resolution appeared on the introduction of restrictions signed by Governor Alexander Beglov on the website of the St. Petersburg Administration. According to it from October 30 to November 7, the city will be closed:

cafes, bars and restaurants (the work is allowed and delivery);
non -food stores, except for pharmacies and points of sale of “essential goods”;
beauty salons (but not hairdressing), fitness centers, rollers and water parks;
children's entertainment centers;
MFC;
Libraries, galleries, cinemas, concert halls and circuses.

Also prohibited by carrying out almost all events. As follows from the decree, only those that take place in theaters and museums are allowed. People who have a QR code (on vaccination or transferred by Covid) or a certificate of medical discharge from vaccination will be able to get there. As Vice-Governor Boris Piotrovsky wrote , it is “good news for true Petersburgers and great connoisseurs.” “Use the long weekend time with benefit and take care of yourself,” the official added.

Fontanka clarified that the authorities went to such restrictions for two main reasons. The first - it is necessary to reduce the incidence in the city itself (since October 16, more than 3,000 new cases of Covid are registered in St. Petersburg daily). “If you do not introduce Lokdown now, after a week, free places in covid hospitals will end,” the source of the publication explained.

The second reason for the introduction of Lokdown is to avoid the arrival of a large number of tourists from Moscow and other cities for the November holidays. Fontanka reported that after the restrictions in Moscow, the demand for Sapsani to St. Petersburg grew significantly, and free places in the hotels of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region almost ended. In accordance with new restrictions, it will also be possible to get to hotels and sanatoriums only with a QR code or a PCR test made three days before the settlement.

In addition, even before the announcement of Lokdown, the authorities of St. Petersburg reported that since the beginning of November, QR codes will be required not only to tourists. From November 1, access will be limited to “congress, exhibition and sports events”, in which more than 40 people participate. From November 15, the QR code will be needed to enter the pools, fitness centers, theaters, circuses, concert halls, cinemas, museums and exhibitions. From December 1, the code will be required to visit bars and cafes, as well as non -food stores (except for pharmacies and some other exceptions).

"Fontanka" with reference to its sources emphasizes: the city authorities hope that such restrictions will avoid Lokdown on New Year's holidays.
