Bicycles may rise in price in St. Petersburg

Petersburg suppliers of bicycles were faced with difficulties. Business representatives told RBC Petersburg about the shortage of two -wheeled transport in the market and the growth of the cost of raw materials. Because of this, the bicycles have risen in price.

According to Kirill Ostapenko, the founder of the bicycle pranks franchise network, in mid -2022, business may encounter interruptions in the supply of two -wheeled bicycles. The deficit arose “all over the world” due to great demand for bicycles in the main sales markets-in Europe and the USA, the co-owner of Electra Bicycle Company Russia & China Raymond Mednis told the publication.

According to Mednis and Ostapenko, due to the deficiency, the average cost of the bicycle in the summer increased by 20-30 %. According to entrepreneurs, next year it will continue to grow. This is also due to the increase in the cost of metals and logistics services.
