A court in Moscow fined participants in a rally in support of “foreign agent” journalists

The Meshchansky District Court of Moscow imposed fines in the amount of 20 thousand rubles on Ivan Yankovy and journalist of “Takih Dela” Larisa Zhukova under the article on violating the rules of participation in the action (Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code). This was reported by lawyer Daria Aksenova, who collaborates with OVD-Info.

Yankovoy and Zhukova were detained on August 21 during a picket in support of journalists who were recognized as “foreign agents.” That day, police detained 12 people.

November 1, 12:30 The Meshchansky District Court fined another participant in the picket in support of “foreign agent” journalists, the creator of the “Norm” podcast, Daria Cherkudinova, ten thousand rubles. The court found her guilty under the article on violating the rules of participation in a public event (Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code).

The interests of the journalist were represented in court by lawyer from OVD-Info Yulia Tregubova.

• On August 20, the Ministry of Justice recognized the investigative media “Important Stories” and the TV channel “Dozhd” as “foreign agents.” The register of individual “foreign agents” also included “Important Stories” journalists Roman Anin, Olesya Shmagun, Dmitry Velikovsky, Alesya Marokhovskaya, Irina Dolinina, Roman Shleynov and the head of the non-profit organization “Yakutia - Our Opinion” Stepan Petrov.
