On Pushkin Square in Moscow, the police detained picketers Sergei Zubarev and Alexander Katkov, who are advocating the release of political prisoners. The activists themselves reported this to OVD-Info.
The detainees were taken to the Tverskoy OVD, and Sergey Telnov, a lawyer from OVD-Info, came to their aid.
Activists are charged with an article on violation of the rules for participation in a public event (part 5 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).
15:15 Aleksey Manakov, Ruslan Karpov, Georgy Osadchy and Aleksey Banshchikov, who were demanding the release of political prisoners, as well as for the right to freedom of assembly, were detained and taken to the Meshchansky police station. A lawyer from OVD-Info, Ilya Utkin, comes to their aid. The activists themselves told OVD-Info about the detention.
Mikhail Kruger, who was not at the picket, was taken to the Tverskoy police station, where Sergey Telnov, a lawyer from OVD-Info, is already working. This was announced by civil activist Mark Galperin.
Meanwhile, Katkov and Zubarev have already been released from the Tverskoy police department with protocols under the article on violation of the rules for participation in a public event (part 5 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses), Sergey Telnov reports. The picketers were also interviewed by representatives of the criminal investigation department. The activists did not testify.
