The UFC 267 tournament took place in Abu Dabi. It was at once several Russian fighters.
The most noticeable event of the tournament for spectators from Russia is the return of Peter Jan. In March of 2021, the fighter lost his championship belt, as he knocked out an opponent, American Aldijamyin Sterling. Revenge was repeatedly postponed due to health problems in sterling. As a result, Jan fought with another contender of Corey Sandhagen for a temporary belt - and defeated the unanimous decision of the judges.
Islam Makhachev, a close friend and permanent partner in training Khabib Nurmagomedov, a student of his father Abdulmanap, also spent another battle. Many experts believe that Makhachev in the near future will become a lightweight champion (this belt belonged to Khabiba before his career end). At the tournament in Abu Dhabi, Makhachev met with an experienced New Zealand fighter Dan Hoker and forced him to surrender already in the first round. This is the ninth consecutive Makhachev’s victory in UFC.

Also at the tournament, Alexander Volkov and Khamzat Chimaev were fighting. Volkov unanimous decision of the judges defeated the Pole Marchin Taybur. And Chimaev (last year was considered one of the main avenues of the UFC, but for a long time he dropped out because of Covid) in the first round defeated Lee Jinlan from China. A fighter of Chechen descent spent four fights in the UFC and in all totally dominated the rivals: in total, Chimaev inflicted 254 strokes and missed only two. In addition, Russian fighters Tagir Ulanbekov, Zubayra Tukhugov, Albert Duraev and Magomed Ankalaev won in Abu Dhabi.
In the main event of the evening, Yan Bolkhovich and Glover Teyisher fought for a waist in half -burned. Many experts were sure that Blahovich would keep the belt. However, the 42-year-old Brazilian defeated the 38-year-old Pole with strangling in the second round. At a later age, the UFC title was conquered only by Randy Couture, who became the owner of a belt at 45 years old.
And the UFC 267 finally met the video bloggers of Hasbik and Abdurozik. Hasbik flew to support Islam Makhachev, and Dan Hoker called to the Abdurozika tournament. According to tradition, everything grew into a brawl.
