Google Corporation blocked the account and the Utuub channel of the Belarusian Investigative Committee due to the sanctions against Belarus introduced by the United States. "The Google account is disabled in accordance with our rules regarding the restriction of export and application of sanctions and cannot be restored," the company received by the Investigative Committee is indicated in the message. In its accounts on social networks, the Belarusian Investigative Committee regularly reports, among other things, about new criminal cases against representatives of the opposition, activists and journalists who are accused of various crimes in connection with protests against the regime of Alexander Lukashenko.

Earlier, in connection with American sanctions, in particular, Instagram accounts of the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov and a number of Chechnya officials and annexed Crimea were blocked. Information resources were also blocked.
