The ex-owner of one of the largest contractors of Russian Railways, Spetstransstroy, who participated in the modernization of BAM and the Trans-Siberian Railway, was arrested, RBC writes , citing sources. In the summer of 2021, Vladimir Putin instructed to find those responsible for the disruption in the expansion of these railway lines.

Yury Reylyan, head of Spetstransstroy, was detained last week, and the businessman is currently under arrest, the newspaper writes. Sources of the newspaper say that investigative actions have been carried out in the contracting structures associated with him. According to the interlocutor of RBC, after the arrest, the businessman was taken to Irkutsk for investigative actions. Another source familiar with the investigation confirmed Reilyan's arrest and his presence in Irkutsk.

Until 2019, Reilyan's companies received large contracts from Russian Railways for the construction of the Eastern test site - the Baikal-Amur Mainline (BAM) and the Trans-Siberian Railway. As RBC points out with reference to SPARK, in just three years (2016-2019) Russian Railways signed contracts with Spetstransstroy and its structures for more than 100 billion rubles.

Reilyan ceased to be the owner of Spetstransstroy in the fall of 2019. The company is currently in bankruptcy.
