The United States imposed sanctions against Positive Technologies from Russia and NSO Group from Israel. They are accused of hacking and espionage trade

The United States imposed sanctions against the Russian company Positive Technologies, the Israeli NSO Group and Candiru, as well as the Singapore Computer Security Initiative Consultance, accusing them of trading equipment for cyberspits. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Trade of the United States.

The US authorities claim that Israeli companies developed and supplied the spy according to the governments of foreign states that used it for attacks on government officials, journalists, businessmen, activists, scientists and embassy employees. The Russian and Sinbragra enterprises were under sanctions, as they resorted to "cyberinstructures used to obtain unauthorized access to information systems, which threatens the confidentiality and safety of individuals and organizations around the world."

In July, the media published an investigation according to which the PEGASUS software created by the NSO Group was used to monitor journalists, politicians, lawyers and activists around the world. The company said that they comply with ethics during work and continue to investigate cases of illegal use of the program.
