The court extended the house arrest of a Muscovite who protested with a crossbow on a tree against renovation

The Babushkinsky District Court of Moscow extended the house arrest of Moscow resident Olga Kuzmina, accused under an article on hooliganism (part 2 of article 213 of the Criminal Code) because she, taking a crossbow, climbed a tree as part of a protest against renovation. This was reported by a lawyer from OVD-Info, Katerina Tertukhina, who defends the activist.

Kuzmina's preventive measure was extended until January 9. This is the second extension of house arrest.

The case against the activist was initiated because of the action on August 9 - on that day she climbed a tree and thus demanded to stop construction at 15 Yantarnaya Street. from a tree.

The investigation believes that Kuzmina did not act alone and "entered into a criminal conspiracy with unidentified persons." Rescuers who arrived at the place of the rally and asked her to come down were recognized as victims in the case of Kuzmina.

The prosecution noted that the Muscovite's crossbow is not a melee weapon and can be used for sports and recreation. Earlier, lawyer Tatyana Solomina also emphasized that the crossbow was declared unsuitable for shooting due to a malfunction of the mechanism.

After the action, Kuzmina was arrested for six days under the article on disobedience to the police (Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). Then the security forces searched her house, took away all the equipment and electronic media. On August 15, at the exit from the special detention center, the woman was detained and sent to a temporary detention facility.
