The Chertanovsky District Court of Moscow has arrested artist Farkhad Israfilli-Gelman, who took part in the Pussy Riot action on Manezhnaya Square a year ago, for 15 days for disobeying police officers. Pussy Riot representatives told Meduza about this.

The artist was detained on the night of November 4 in the area of the Sevastopolskaya metro station, OVD-Info reports . An administrative protocol was drawn up against Israfilli-Gelman under the article on disobeying a police officer (Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation) for allegedly refusing to show his passport, and he was left to spend the night in the Nagorny District police station, said his lawyer Dmitry Zakhvatov.

At the end of November 2020, members of the Pussy Riot art group Maria Alyokhina and Rita Flores, together with artist Farkhad Israfilli-Gelman, held an action against police violence in the center of Moscow called “Beware of Fragile!”
Alekhina and Flores, wearing kokoshniks and dresses stylized as Russian folk costumes, used tape to tie Israfilli-Gelman, in a riot police uniform, to a pole. After the action, the artist and Alekhina were fined, and Flores was arrested for 20 days.
In July, due to regular detentions and arrests,several Pussy Riot members left Russia.
