The holy martyr Nikolai Pokrovsky

Nikolai Pokrovsky is the son of a priest from the village of Nikolsky Tikhvinsky district of the Novgorod province. After graduating from the Novgorod Theological Seminary, he worked as a teacher. He was drafted into the Red Army and served in the Caucasus until 1921. In the army he taught illiterate.
