The court again fined Google and Telegram for failure to remove prohibited content

The magistrate of court district No. 422 of the Tagansky district of Moscow fined Google 2 million rubles, and Telegram - 4 million rubles. This was reported on November 8 by the press service of the Moscow courts of general jurisdiction.

The companies were found guilty of not deleting prohibited information (part 2 of article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). What kind of information in question is not reported.

In September, a court fined Facebook, Twitter, and Telegram for failing to remove banned content. Facebook was fined 21 million rubles under the article on violation of the procedure for access to information (parts 2 and 4 of article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). Under the same article, Telegram was fined 9 million, Twitter - 5 million.

• On March 10, Roskomnadzor slowed down Twitter due to the failure to remove prohibited content. The regulator pointed to three thousand publications that the social network has not erased since 2017. The agency also said that it does not rule out a complete blocking of Twitter.
• Roskomnadzor regularly files lawsuits against Google , Facebook and Twitter . In May, the department filed the first lawsuit against the company in connection with the requirement to remove 12 links to YouTube with calls for participation in January actions in support of Alexei Navalny. On May 25, the court fined Google four million rubles for the first time.
