Chita detained Krishnas due to violation of the "self-isolation" regime
In Chita, the police detained the Krishnaites due to the performance of songs and dances in the city center. They were accused of violating the “self -isolation” regime. This was reported by the Chita.ru publication with reference to a source in law enforcement agencies.
The publication does not report the time and place of detention. According to the source, believers were accused of violation of the order of public event. They drew up a protocol for the “coronavirus” article on violation of the regime of increased readiness (Article 20.6.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).
This article was introduced to the legislation on April 1, 2020, according to it, citizens can receive from one to 30 thousand rubles a fine.
Earlier in Russia, Krishnaites were tried for various reasons. In July 2016, in Cherkessk, employees of the E-E Center opened a criminal case against the believer due to the distribution of religious literature. The accusation believed that he violated the Federal Law "On Freedom of Conscience." The case was the first known case of the application of legislative amendments to limit the missionary, which entered into force within the “Yarova Package”. However, a few days later the court terminated the case.
Also in March 2017, in Yekaterinburg, the case was brought to Krishnaite, who was dressed in Santa Claus. He organized the New Year's procession on which believers distributed religious brochures without marking. The organizer was also accused of illegal missionary work (Article 5.26 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).
