St. Petersburg introduces mandatory vaccination against COVID-19 for people over 60 years old

St. Petersburg’s Chief Sanitary Doctor Nataliya Bashketova has decided to make vaccination against the coronavirus mandatory for city residents over 60 years old and for people with chronic illnesses.

These groups are now required to get their first vaccine dose by December 15, 2021, and their second jab by January 15, 2022.

According to the local newspaper Fontanka, the mandatory vaccination order was also extended to employees of any organizations that work at St. Petersburg’s Pulkovo Airport, as well as at the city’s ports.

In addition, vaccination is now mandatory for all university and vocational school students over the age of 18, who are required to complete internships outside of their educational institutions.
