Bloomberg: The European Union is discussing sanctions against Aeroflot due to the migration crisis on the border of Belarus and the EU

The EU is discussing imposing sanctions against Aeroflot and Turkish Airlines as part of a new package of restrictive measures against Belarus, Bloomberg reports, citing an EU official.

Earlier, Reuters reported that the EU is preparing sanctions against about 30 individuals and legal entities, including the Belarusian airline Belavia. Sanctions are planned to be imposed on Belarusian officials who, according to the EU, organized the arrival of migrants from the Middle East to the border of Belarus with European countries.

According to Bloomberg, the European Union is considering imposing sanctions on companies that rent planes involved in the transport of migrants.

The European Union is expected to impose sanctions against Belarus in early December.
