Theoretically, foods can be imported by airplanes or helicopters, and they even do it. But it is very expensive and difficult, including due to difficult weather conditions and the poor condition of the landing sites. So they deliver products and essential goods mainly on the sea. Navigation in many areas ends already in November, so the delays are very worried.
The most difficult thing is Chukotka. Local resident Svetlana Kareva created a petition in which he writes that the settlements of the region live without vegetables and fruits, there are no dairy products and eggs on the shelves. "Children see neither fruits nor yogurt." According to her, in the summer only one ship arrived in the Providence Bay. The products that are included in the list of socially significant.
“They gave a plane with vegetables and fruits, 4 tons, by aircraft during navigation. Naturally, this volume was enough for 3-4 days. They didn’t bring anything remote villages at all, ”the petition says.
The Governor of Chukotka Roman Kopin, in a personal Instagram account, often writes about the problems of the northern delivery. From the latest news: the ship “Vladimir Myasnikov” on November 2 delivered more than one and a half thousand tons of products for the Providen city district (and thereby closed the plan). And on November 8, he also delivered a load for the Chukchi district, is unloading in the sea terminal of Lavrenty. On board - 60 containers (about 560 tons) of products for the villages of Lavrenty and Lorino. The Myasnikov will enter a number of settlements.

“In total, about 4 thousand tons of food on the way to Chukotka, and about 1 thousand tons are now under loading in Arkhangelsk and Vladivostok. Given this volume, the plan for the import will be implemented in all districts of the district, ”Kopin said. Someone meets the news with enthusiasm: “Hurray! The food moored! " Someone is indignant: the products are brought overd by, milk is frozen.
In the singing, the ice situation is already complicated. But the region’s authorities promise that the cost of icebreaking into the final cost of products for the residents of Chukotka will not enter. In addition, there is a reserve option with delivery through an eg -bevetor - but the idea is also so -so to carry an auto -zimnik, everything will freeze. Entrepreneurs also report that Atomflot refused loaded vessels, accompanied by Severomorpay from Arkhangelsk to Peveck.

In Kamchatka, the local authorities began to alarm back in mid -October: the delays in the supply of goods reached as much as three months. According to the Government of the region, 1,600 containers and general cargo for Kamchatka was stuck in Primorsky ports. Governor Vladimir Solodov explained that such a situation has developed in connection with the “changes and crisis in global logistics, redirecting goods from China, from the Suez Canal to the Trans -Siberian Railway. As a result, a huge number of containers and goods for sending have accumulated in the ports of Vladivostok. ” However, then the situation was normalized. The food is sent on time, building materials with a delay, even for state purposes.
- While there is food. “Doshirak” and the like were daring in the first place. I think there will be no deficit, but prices are rising, ”said Valery Bykov, the first secretary of the local cell of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, an entrepreneur. - The rates on containers increased by 30% - and prices are “pulled up”. Not immediately, of course, by 2-3-5 percent per week.
Milk is already 100 rubles per liter, eggs are 100–120, 40 social bread, but in general, is more expensive.
Not only food, but also building materials is growing in price. The cement for a month and a half by 30% rose, wood - by 25–35% per cubic meter. I wanted to bring building materials to the bathhouse - the nearest container only for March. Priority now is food. Due to the fact that the goods were idle for a long time, many products simply spoiled.

On Sakhalin, as the "new" local residents report, there are no interruptions with food. On the Vanino-Holmsk ferry line, there are some malfunctions (at least breakdowns of the ferry) often, but no one is starving.
According to the regional Ministry of Transport on November 10, 1604 containers are expected to send to the island region in Vladivostok, 76 of them with a socially significant load. From October 29, 2245 containers were transported. Plus, a ship with 420 containers is now loading on Korsakov. The weather, however, does not indulge - so in the port, apparently, they will introduce additional shifts to unload the ships that accumulate on the raid. “The other day, the issue of delivery of food products, agricultural feed and winter tires has been resolved,” said Valery Spechenko, Minister of Transport and Roads of the Sakhalin Region.
At Kolyma about the northern delivery (which actually goes in the region all year round), they were silent until recently. On November 10, they officially commented that "the food supply was formed in the region, designed for 2-3 months of continuous trade." Although the goods in this direction from Primorye also did not leave on time, residents and authorities did not complain about the lack of products.
The Minister of Agriculture of the Magadan Region Nikolai Koshelenko said that every 10 days, parties of fresh vegetables are brought to the region.
In general, the shipowners in the northern fee are not participating with their hands: the flight to Japan will give incomparably more income than to Chukotka. And this has several reasons.
Firstly, due to the pandemic, the cargo flow first decreased, but in 2021 it grew strongly: people began to consume more goods (before, for example, they were spent on tourism). Accordingly, the load on the ports has increased. Secondly, the world has developed a shortage of containers. The fact is that containers leave China to the USA and Europe full.
But in order for carriers to make a profit, you need to take some goods back. And there is nothing to load, because in the USA there is no such volume of production and exports.
Here are containers and are waiting for their turn to load, accumulate in American ports.
-In Los Angeles now a bunch of ships that have risen on freight. They got stuck there. Less containers are also returned from Europe than it leaves. Moreover, experts already say that the rates for sea and air transportation will soon be equal. Many people prefer the sea road to the sea, the Trans -Siberian Railway (the rates have decreased there), ”says an employee of a company engaged in sea transportation. - The goods that used to be fiddled through the Suez Canal to Europe have now gone through the ports of the Far East. We have an excitement.
Thirdly, as a result, the bets of the freight containers took off to heaven. For a year-5-6 times. And only in recent days they began to decline (in September, the rate on the transportation of a 40-foot container from China to Los Angeles exceeded 20 thousand dollars).
Fourth, there are objective consequences of the pandemic: due to coronavirus, many foreign ports suspended work (the same Tsindao, one of the main in China, simply did not work for a month). So the cargo flow poured into Russia.

But this is all about foreign trade. And the cabotage (that is, domestic) transportation is now not beneficial to transport companies or ports. And why, if on transit goods to Europe, especially now, can you earn incomparably more? Large carriers tied to work with the state perform them, but this is rather a social burden, from which, so to speak, not to turn away. Portoviks and carriers nod at each other. Some say that they are ready to process goods, if only there was something to process. Others are that these cargoes are ready to transport, and they are “pushed”, because first of all, transit, and only then the starving children of Chukotka.
In Primorye, the Cabotage cargo leaves the Vladivostok Sea Commercial Port, the Vladivostok Sea Fish Port, and from the Nakhodkinsky container terminal. The latter, by the way, according to the surveyed carriers, shows delays in cabotage goods.
Elena Kazarina, the head of the commercial department of PJSC VMTP, noted in the official comment that cabinage transportation for the port is priority due to their social significance.
“Only for September-October, the VMTP adopted 48 cabinet shipping, more than 27 thousand TEU loads went to Kamchatka and Sakhalin, Kolyma and Chukotka. In the first two weeks of November, we will process another 12 co -coat of the cabinage direction with a total capacity of more than 2300 containers, ”said Elena Kazarina.
So far, the problem has not been completely resolved, in Primorye the headquarters for the delivery of the goods of the northern delivery is created. The governor of the region Oleg Kozhemyako said that the heads of interested regions are going to "encourage the owners of goods in the speedy order to find ships to transport containers."
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, Yuri Trutnev, "over the past week, the number of containers accumulated in the ports of Primorye decreased by 30%." First of all, the northern delivery is sent. Until November 15, they promise to send everything, and by November 30 “go to planned, regular deliveries. The rate of accumulation in these ports, ”Trutnev recalled,“ 2200 containers. ”
