The Kirovsky District Court of Ufa ordered the former coordinator of Navalny's local headquarters, Liliya Chanysheva, to be placed in custody as a preventive measure. She will remain in pre-trial detention until at least January 9, 2022. This was reported by the Kommersant Bashkortostan telegram channel.
The activist is a suspect in the case of organizing the activities of an extremist community (Part 1 of Article 282.1 of the Criminal Code). She was detained on November 9 - on this day, law enforcement officers in the Kemerovo region and Bashkortostan came with searches to supporters of Alexei Navalny as part of a joint criminal case against Navalny and his associates, which included five articles of the Criminal Code.
Security officials suggest that Chanysheva led a structural unit of the extremist community - the network of headquarters of Alexei Navalny. Before the trial, Chanysheva was placed in a temporary detention facility.
During the detention hearing, Chanysheva stated that she was apparently pregnant.
17:54 According to the Kommersant Bashkortostan telegram channel, Chanysheva will be kept in pre-trial detention center No. 6 in Moscow.
On November 13, Liliya Chanysheva’s lawyer, Vladimir Voronin , said on Twitter that the suspect is still in the temporary detention center (IVS) in Ufa and is not allowed to see her family due to coronavirus restrictions.
“I haven’t seen Lilya for five days. Visits, by order of the management of the detention center, are prohibited due to the situation with the COVID-19 pandemic. I also can’t give her medicines and vitamins,” the Idel.Realii publication quotes Chanysheva’s husband.
