Meta has announced its first big partnership since its rebranding from Facebook. Mark Zuckerberg's company integrates a remote collaboration solution with Microsoft.
Integration will undergo Workplace (Meta) and Teams (Microsoft) services. For example, Workplace content will be available in Teams, and Teams video conferencing will be available in Workplace.
The offer came from “bottom-up” from big business, told Ujwal Singh, head of Workplace at Meta, CNBC. Some companies, such as Vodaphone, use both applications. In Teams, workgroup communications are better developed, Workplace has an advantage at the company level.
Collaboration is more profitable than Workplace, whose audience (7 million paid subscribers) is much smaller than the Microsoft product (250 million), notes CNBC. Companies have already extensively integrated other products: Workplace can run in Microsoft's Office 365 office environment.
