The Ministry of Justice recognized the foreign agent of one of the founders of the Russian LGBT network Igor Kochetkov. The movement itself was included in the register of unregistered public associations performing the functions of a foreign agent on November 8.
Igor Kochetkov is a Russian public figure, human rights activist and publicist. In 2006, he founded the “Russian LGBT network”, which protects the rights of sexual and gender minorities. The movement repeatedly talked about the persecution of LGBT in Chechnya and helped to export potential victims from the region.
In 2018, Kochetkov became a laureate of the Yegor Gaidar Prize in the nomination “For actions that contribute to the development of civil society in Russia”. In 2020, “Paper” told how Kochetkov was able to issue a tax deduction for her husband in the Federal Tax Service of Russia.
