Elections without a choice

In less than a year, elections of the heads of cities and settlements will be held in the region. Despite the depressing appearance of Severodvinsk with a mass of unresolved problems, the population of which is steadily reduced, the current head of the administration Igor Skubenko has every chance for re -election. After all, the Severodvy residents, like all inhabitants of the region, took the right to choose their mayor, replacing a simple procedure. And he did this scandalously famous governor Orlov.

Many know his betrayal of the interests of the northerners associated with the frank lobbying of scandalous buildings of garbage burial grounds near Shies and Rikasikha. But few know about the next hypocrisy - the appointment of cities and municipalities introduced by him, who had previously been directly elected by their population. Orlov did not need independent leaders who could object and defend the interests of their cities and settlements. And we needed performers, ready only to look into their mouths to their boss, and execute any instructions. Such as the protege of Governor Orlov Igor Skubenko. The regional deputies of the uninteride to a bang approved the initiative proposed by Orlov. And now people do not choose the heads of municipalities, and they are appointed by selection by a special commission and the vote of deputies of the local council. And for some reason not a new convocation, but leaving.

And all this undoubtedly looks like an increasing detachment of people from participating in the lives of their cities and settlements, as well as the state as a whole. This topic worries so many, but no one is going to reckon with people. The Communists in the regional meeting made a legislative initiative to return direct elections back in 2019. And the candidate for the post of governor Yuri Shevelev skillfully played this card in the election race, collecting 62 thousand signatures of northerners in support of the bill on the return of direct elections of the heads of cities and regions of the Arkhangelsk region last year. The new Governor Tsybulsky, of course, knows an acute regional problem, but is not going to change anything, because, of course, everything suits him.

For six years, the implemented system, in fact, the purpose of the chapters completely discredited itself. After all, if earlier the mayors understood that they were chosen by people, and they felt at least some responsibility, now the population of the population is absolutely not interested in them. And Skubenko demonstrates it with constancy. Despite the fact that he zealously supported Orlov on the issues of Rikasih and Shiies and thereby practically back his rating, and recently signed a large -scale building of the quarter of 100 contrary to the opinion of the Severodvin residents, the current chapter with optimism looks into the future. And recently made an application for a second term, saying on social networks that he was not going to leave. “I won’t let the madmen let it go. So rest,” Igor Skubenko leaves such comments on his page on the social network today. What speaks of his complete confidence in victory.

And to create the illusion of “choosing” before the Severodvans, a performance with the participation of dummy and obviously impassable little -known candidates will already be played out. They are already starting to demonstrate them now. But the finale of this production is known in advance. To hope that the current deputies will reject the candidacy of Skubenko is not necessary. After all, most of them is his one -party and their work or business, like family members, are somehow connected with the administration. No one will bite the hand that feeds them. Therefore, there is no need to expect surprises here. The only thing that can interfere with this is the people who have already been eaten by their mayor and begin to understand what's what. Whether the Severodvans will manage to somehow resist this - time will tell.
