The Ministry of Justice drew up five protocols against RBC editor-in-chief Pyotr Kanaev because of the mention of "foreign agents" without marking. Kanaev wrote about this on his Facebook.
On August 9 and November 15, the Simonovsky District Court of Moscow received administrative cases against RBC Editor-in-Chief Petr Kanaev. The protocols were drawn up under the article on violation of the rules for labeling NCOs-“foreign agents” in the media (part 2.1 of article 13.15 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).
Court hearings will take place on December 3rd.
Kanaev suggests that the reason was the lack of marking for terrorist organizations (part 2 of article 13.15 of the Code of Administrative Offenses), however, only the article about “foreign agents” is mentioned on the court’s website. “One of them is for the fact that in the news about the Taliban terrorist organization banned in Russia, they forgot to insert words about the fact that it is banned and terrorist when publishing it. Of course, they immediately added it, ”said the editor-in-chief of RBC.
For individuals, the punishment under this article can be from two to two and a half thousand rubles a fine, for officials - from four to five thousand. It is also possible to confiscate the “subject of an administrative violation”.
