Interview with Russia's first transgender woman politician, Yulia Aleshina from Altai Krai

In late October, the Altai branch of the Civil Initiative party was headed by Yulia Aleshina, a transgender woman, politician and electoral lawyer. A few days later, State Duma deputy Vitaly Milonov, known for his homophobic views and eccentric initiatives, called on the party to expel Alyosha or completely dissolve itself. Neither one nor the other happened (as is usually the case with Milonov's initiatives and proposals).
