A court in Crimea fined seven Crimean Tatars who came to appeal the Hizb-ut-Tahrir case.

The Central District Court of Simferopol fined seven Crimean Tatars under the “coronavirus” article. It is reported by "Crimean solidarity".

On November 1, acquaintances of the convicts came to the announcement of the results of the appeal in the Red Guard case of Hizb-ut-Tahrir. The police detained 19 people near the building of the Crimean garrison military court, where the meeting was broadcast. The Crimean Tatars were charged under the article on violation of the high alert regime (part 1 of article 20.6.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).

Amethan Umerov, Seydamet Mustafaev, Ulvi Aliyev, Zera Zeintdinova received a fine of 10,000 rubles. Bilyal Ibrahimov and Enver Nimetulayev - 15 thousand rubles, and Mir Ibrahim Ibrahimov - 8 thousand rubles.

In court, the interests of the Crimean Tatars were represented by public defender Seyran Kamilov. He noted that the video recordings submitted to the court as confirmation of the guilt of Aliyev and Bilyal Ibragimov did not contain any corpus delicti.

“The video clearly shows where Aliyev is standing alone, while wearing a mask and not in contact with anyone. And on the disk with the video on the case of Bilyal Ibragimov, he himself was not on the video. But despite this, the judge imposed fines on both of them,” Kamilov told Crimean Solidarity.

• On November 13, the court considered seven more administrative cases related to detentions, which came to the hearings on the Hizb-ut-Tahrir case on October 11 and 29 , 2021. All involved received fines either under the “coronavirus” or “rally” articles.
• On November 3, 2020, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced three defendants in the Red Guard Hizb ut-Tahrir case to 12 to 17 years in a strict regime colony. They were charged under articles on organizing the activities of a terrorist organization (part 1 of article 205.5 of the Criminal Code) and on participation in the activities of a terrorist organization (part 2 of article 205.5 of the Criminal Code). The appeal against the verdict was considered by the Military Court of Appeal in Vlasikha (Moscow Region). On November 1, the court upheld the sentences for all three.
• The Islamist party Hizb ut-Tahrir has been recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia. In various regions of Russia, as well as in the Crimea, alleged members of the party are being prosecuted for the activities of a terrorist organization. At the same time, members of Hizb ut-Tahrir were not seen in the preparation of attacks or terrorist attacks. The accused are sentenced to various terms only on the basis that they held meetings and read religious literature. On the territory of Ukraine, the activities of Hizb ut-Tahrir are allowed.
