53 percent of students studying information technologies (IT) would like to leave Russia in the future. This follows from the survey of more than five thousand users of the Geekbrains educational platform (part of the VK ecosystem) from different cities of Russia, RBC reports , Radio Liberty writes .

A quarter of the respondents, they said that they would like to emigrate to the United States, from 7 to 5 percent would like to leave for the UK, Germany and Canada, 23 percent to other countries, a third of the respondents, found it difficult to call the country to move.

Despite the fact that their salaries in Russia continue to grow, a large number of IT specialists are still leaving the country. At the same time, the motivation for moving is often not an increase in income, but intangible reasons, Geekbrains note. So, 35 percent of the students surveyed called a higher standard of living in other countries. 19 percent indicated that they would like to join relatives, friends or acquaintances who already live in other countries. 17 percent noted that in a new place there are more opportunities for career development.

According to the director of Softline HR in Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia Natalia Lididievskaya, the world has become global and students studying on IT specialties, it has the opportunity to work out anywhere in the world. According to Marina Maksimova, the head of the Yandex Student programs, this trend has been observed for several years: at first many young specialists go to Moscow and St. Petersburg, then some leave for Silicon Valley. "These are points of attraction. In order for other points to appear, it is necessary to create more comfortable conditions for study and work," says the representative of Yandex.

• According to the June survey of the Levada Center (entered into the register of "foreign agents"), 22 percent of Russians want to live in Russia. This is the highest rate since 2013. Of those who would like to live abroad, almost half are youth aged 18 to 24 years, another third are people aged 25 to 39 years.
