The literary critic and literature historian Mariett Chudakova died at the age of 84, her daughter Maria Chudakova said on Facebook.

According to Maria Chudakova, her mother died in the intensive care unit of a covid hospital in Kommunarka. Chudakova fell ill on November 3, and on November 9 she was hospitalized with a confirmed diagnosis of Covid-19.
Marietta Chudakova is a historian of Russian literature of the Soviet period. She wrote books about the work of writers Yuri Olesha, Mikhail Zoshchenko, Mikhail Bulgakov. Since 1985, she taught at the Gorky Literary Institute, since 1988 as an invited professor has lectured at universities in Europe and the USA.
