Roskomnadzor has published a list of foreign IT corporations that will be required to open a branch in Russia from January 1. It includes Google, Apple, Meta and 10 other companies

Roskomnadzor has published a list of foreign companies that fall under the so-called landing law. The register is available on the department's website.

The list includes 13 companies: Google, Apple, Meta, Twitter, TikTok, Telegram, Zoom, Viber, Spotify, Likee, Discord, Pinterest and Twitch.

Companies included in the list will need to open a branch or representative office in Russia by January 1, 2022, as well as respond to requests from Roskomnadzor and post a feedback form on their website.

• Companies that refuse to comply with the requirements of the law face a ban on advertising in Russia and on accepting payments from Russian legal entities and individuals. Roskomnadzor will also have the right to slow down access to the resource or completely block it in the Russian Federation.
• The law on the “landing” of IT companies was adopted in the summer of 2020. Sites that are visited daily by more than 500 thousand Russians can get into the register.
