Yuri Samodurov and Victoria Ivleva were fined due to a rally in support of Memorial

The Khamovnichesky District Court of Moscow fined publicist and public figure Yuri Samodurov 20 thousand rubles because of a picket against the liquidation of Memorial. This was reported by lawyer from OVD-Info Ilya Utkin.

Samodurov was found guilty under the article on violating the rules of organizing a rally (Part 2 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code).

18:16 Novaya Gazeta journalist Victoria Ivleva was fined 150 thousand rubles under the article of repeated violation of the “rally” legislation (Part 8 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code). Her interests were also represented by lawyer from OVD-Info Ilya Utkin.

• Yuri Samodurov and Victoria Ivleva were detained on November 20 on Pushkin Square when they were holding pickets in support of International Memorial and the Memorial Human Rights Center. The prosecutor's office filed lawsuits to liquidate these organizations due to violations of the law on “foreign agents.” The detainees were brought to the Luzhniki police station and left there overnight until the trial.
