In Yaroslavl, the investigation terminated the criminal case of civil activist Vitaliy Dryzhenko on inciting hostility towards police officers (paragraph “a” of part 2 of article 282 of the Criminal Code) due to the absence of corpus delicti. This is reported by the project "Network Freedoms" with reference to the lawyer Stanislav Spivak.
The case was opened because of the videos posted on YouTube and posts on VKontakte. In them, according to the investigation, the activist called for the overthrow of the constitutional order and the use of violence against employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
In April, the Zavolzhsky District Court returned the activist's case to the prosecutor's office. “Violence and the threat of its use must be real, not virtual,” the judge said in the ruling.
Dryzhenko is also charged with public calls to carry out extremist activities (part 2 of article 280 of the Criminal Code). The criminal case with the indictment was sent to the prosecutor.
