Leningrad region: after self -operation of the blockade, a criminal case has been instituted

A criminal case was opened in the Leningrad region after the 90-year-old blockade with oncology independently did the operation, without waiting for medical care due to the pandemic Covid-19. The incident became known from the paramedic of Vyborg ambulance Victoria Shutova. She wrote that she came to the blockade and found a suicide note in which an elderly woman asked for forgiveness from relatives. After surgery at home, a pensioner was provided with medical assistance, she is in the hospital.

The 90-year-old woman was sick with ascite, but could not get help in the medical facility and spent herself laparocentesis-she made cuts on the anterior abdominal wall to remove the liquid. She left the note in case the procedure passes unsuccessfully.

The Health Committee of the Leningrad Region said that the planned operation did not take place due to the problems of a woman with analyzes. The patient was detected by Covid-19, so surgical intervention had to be transferred. Officials will conduct a check after the incident.
